Black Intellect showcases the essence of Black culture through art, emphasizing themes of emotion, the battle with depression, mental health, unity, history and everyday living. It highlights the importance of coming together to empower one another, providing the Black community with what it deserves. By building a strong team, artists can showcase their talents and create opportunities, offering the community something meaningful.
This initiative also aims to inspire and provide something valuable for the youth. " Black Intellect", a black themed opening night art show/performance that's put together by visual artist Jahmai Brown and Lily Stennis-Vinson, contemporary mix media painter and sculptural artists.
This multimedia exhibit will feature visual art, live music, and performance, showcasing the unique perspectives and talents of Omaha creatives. Why this location? It's a part of CulxrHouse, which is a safe space for all creatives in the heart of North Omaha 24th st. It's the CulxrHouse Gallery 2.0 but the purpose is to reactivate the 119 year old building space where Sothmann Dry Cleaning once was back in 1919 with contemporary artist expression.
